Commonly referred to by locals as ‘la Pointe Noire’ for the long ledge of black rocks which jut into the bay in this area.
This village is an important service hub for Clare. There are restaurants, a pharmacy, the famous original Frenchy’s used clothing store, a farmers’ market, liquor store and gas station.
