Havelock

Havelock

The name was given by Irish settler Patrick Nowlan for Sir Henry Havelock, who distinguished himself in the Indian Mutiny in Lucknow in 1857.

This tiny community is located about 15 km south of Weymouth on Highway 340 and boasts a community centre, a fire department, a handful of mink ranches and a mink feed supplier.

The locally made horror film Havelock, released in 2015, was set in an abandoned house in the community. While driving on Highway 340, look for the white Victorian farmhouse with a Mansard roof!
