New for 2026, the “Festival de Coques” will celebrate the rich tradition of clam digging as a “Must-Do” authentic Acadian experience! The festival will be family friendly, outdoor, activity based, educational and accessible.
While all events are free, registration is required for events noted below.

There will be unique Clam Specials at 6 local restaurants! Visit our Facebook page for the specials: Comeau's Farm Market, Comeauville Freshmart, DJ's Ritestop & Diner, La Cuisine Robicheau, The Wheelhouse Seafood & Pasta Restaurant and The Workshop Café.
Plus, a Golden Clam Hunt for the entire duration of the festival with amazing prizes! Visit Facebook de Loisirs de Clare for a new clue every day at 10 am and see who will find the golden clam!

Saturday, June 13

- 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Kids’ Clam Shell Painting by the Conseil des arts de la Baie (CAB) and Oceanographic Environmental Research Society (OERS), and and “Plein Air” painting activity by CAB. Parc Joseph et Marie Dugas, Belliveau Cove
- 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Clam Digging Competitions and Awards. Meet at Major's Point Historic Site. Bring your own equipment or limited equipment available for free. Clamdigging 3 to 4:30, judging and awards to follow. Registration Required.
- 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. CANCELLED: Clam Trivia and Awards. Location: Rendez-vous de la Baie Visitor Centre. Registration Required.
Sunday, June 14
- 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Scotian Shores Beach Clean-up. Location: Meteghan Centre Beach, at the end of Maxwellton Road.
